FAQ’s

We hope you will enjoy browsing the website to find out more about our school and answer any questions you might have.

Here are a few more questions you might like to know the answer to:

How do you communicate with parents?

We know that good communication links between home and school are essential to build a positive partnership in the interests of every child. We send out emails to remind parents about specific events that are taking place in school. We also send home letters about outings and other important information. Teachers produce a termly topic summary and weekly newsletters highlighting what children have done each week. There is also a school newsletter every Friday.

Does Annan have a uniform?

We do not have a uniform at Annan School as we like children to feel comfortable in their own choice of clothes.

Children wear their own clothes to school. Annan has a clothing policy which expects children to come to school in clothes suitable for the busy school environment. This means they should be comfortable and tidy. Long hair must be tied back, and we do not allow slogans, sports clothing or large images on clothing. Trousers are usually best for both boys and girls.

Is Annan on Social Media?

The School Facebook and Instagram pages are great to keep up with public posts. Facebook Annan The Froebel School. @Annanschool  Please like and follow the school.

There is also a parent group which is called Annan School Community Noticeboard This is a closed group which you need to request to join and we will join you up. This is where parents can share events, swap things or ask for recommendations etc. It does also have reminders about events in school.

Can we take holidays in term time?

Like all schools we are not able to authorise holidays in term time and ask that as far as possible holidays are taken in school holidays.

Who is in charge of Safeguarding?

We take children’s safety seriously. The Designated Safeguarding Leads for the school are Debby Hunter and Amanda Lucy. Our Safeguarding Policy is available to read in the Policies section on the website

Does Annan have a complaints procedure?

Most complaints or concerns can be dealt with by speaking directly with the class teacher or the Principal, Debby Hunter. Should you not be happy with the response or would like to make a more formal complaint please follow the complaints procedure which can be found in the Policy section of the website.

How do I contact the Proprietors of the school in term time or holidays?

“We were looking for a school where educators are given the time and space to know their pupils so that they can tailor the learning journey to their best advantage. The close partnership with parents was also paramount; it is very important to us to be able to stay involved in our child’s school life.”
