Sycamore Class learnt that long ago people would not have had pens to write with so they had a go at writing letters using quills. It was quite tricky! They even used melted wax and a special sycamore leaf stamp to make their own wax seal on their letters. The children carefully melted wax over a candle and then poured it onto the bottom of their letters. They pressed the sycamore stamp quickly into the molten wax and were really excited to reveal the beautiful seal as they lifted the stamp.
